Coordinated Alliance and Resource Exchange Services (C.A.R.E.S.)

Family Resources and Child Care Education, at Red Rocks Community College (FRCCE), in partnership with Jefferson County Department of Human Services (JCDHS), is pleased to announce the opportunity to apply for funding to improve child care quality and availability.

Eligibility:
Licensed family child care homes and centers, as well as those in the process of becoming licensed, are eligible to apply. Applicants must indicate a willingness to serve families participating in the Child Care Assistance Program and must not be in the process of licensing suspension or revocation.

Restrictions in use of grant funds:
Funds must be used to meet program goals as described on the attached fact sheet. Money may be used to cover costs associated with start-up for new facilities, providing additional sleeping spaces, supplies, equipment, and minor remodeling costs required for expansion.

Application process:
Applications must be typed, recreated on a computer, or printed. Completed applications should be forwarded to the Program Coordinator at FRCCE, who will review and make recommendations for funding, notify applicants of recommended award amount, and forward to JCDHS for disbursement of funds. Checks will be sent directly from JCDHS to applicants.

Contracting:
Successful applicants will be expected to commit to participating in the program for a period of twelve months, and to begin the proposed activities within thirty days of receipt of the grant award. Applicants must also agree to assist in providing information necessary for completion of program reports, as requested. Failure to meet funding conditions may result in forfeiture of the award and a requirement to repay some or all of the grant amount.

Application due date:
Funds are limited and will be awarded on a first come basis.
